Brief analysis on the safety performance of food "packaging"

food flexible packaging materials mainly include polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, polyamide and other polymer materials. These packaging materials show great differences due to their own molecular structure, molding process and additives. Therefore, it is particularly important for food manufacturers to choose a packaging material suitable for their own products, otherwise there will be problems such as food safety

in order to keep the food fresh and provide it to consumers safely and healthily in the circulation process, it is necessary to carry out safety inspection on the value packaging of food that has no recycling value. Our requirements for food packaging performance are:

(1) solvent residue

packaging molding generally needs to go through blow molding, printing, compounding and other processes. In order to improve printability and speed up printing, some solvents are usually added. After the "Lanzhou incident", the problem of solvent residue has increasingly become the focus of packaging safety. The national standard stipulates that the solvent residue shall be less than 10mg/m2, and the enterprise standard is generally higher than the national standard, and the total amount shall be less than 7mg/m2. For the problem of solvent residue, the gas chromatograph can be used for detection and control

(2) barrier properties

barrier properties include gas barrier and water barrier. Most of the reasons for food deterioration are due to the improper barrier properties of the selected materials. The selection of materials shall be based on different bags, shelf life, storage conditions, etc. At the end of 2005, the seamless steel pipes with GB greater than 4.8mm (the standard for plastic composite film and packaging bag for liquid food packaging) proposed to adopt gb/t1038 (test method for permeability of plastic film) and gb/t1037 (test method for water vapor permeability of plastic film and sheet) to test the barrier of packaging film. (3) tensile properties

the film is subject to mechanical tension during packaging and external forces such as extrusion during transportation, which requires that the film must have sufficient tensile strength. For the composite film, it should be ensured that there is no delamination between the film layers, which requires that the composite film has a high peel strength to avoid material delamination. (4) film smoothness

the film surface shall have a good smoothness indicating the zero point of detection, so as to ensure that it can carry out high-speed packaging smoothly. It shall be measured according to gb10006 (measurement method of friction coefficient of plastic film and sheet). Generally, the dynamic friction coefficient of the film surface shall be 0 4. It should be noted here that the surface properties of materials will change greatly with the increase of temperature. Fpt-f1 friction coefficient/peel tester can be used to measure the dynamic and static friction coefficient of materials at extraordinary temperature (room temperature -99.9 ℃)

(5) heat sealing performance

the filling speed of modern filling machines is getting higher and higher. During the sealing process, problems such as missing sealing, virtual sealing, sticking head, wiredrawing and sealing fracture are more likely to occur. This requires that the heat sealing temperature, heat sealing time and heat sealing pressure of the heat sealing machine be tested and confirmed before automatic packaging, so as to improve efficiency and avoid waste. It is worth noting that most filling production lines take a short time from sealing to filling. At this time, the sealing temperature has not yet dropped to room temperature, the strength is low, and leakage is very easy to occur. Therefore, the prediction of the thermal adhesive strength (sealing strength at high temperature) is particularly important for the whole filling process. (6) ink performance

in addition to the general adhesion and wear resistance to the substrate, the requirements of food packaging film on the ink should also be able to meet the requirements of sterilization and boiling treatment, as well as the frost resistance and heat resistance, so as to ensure that the ink will not fall off and coagulate during transportation and storage. It can be tested according to gb7707 with a printing binding fastness tester

for food safety, AQSIQ implemented a mandatory product certification management system (i.e. 3C certification) for food packaging in 2005. Products produced by enterprises must pass the inspection before they can be put on the market. As the number of missing edges and corners and the number of cracks are specified, the author suggests that for packaging products and food manufacturers, the inspection of food packaging materials must be carried out, and it is more important to select a well-known enterprise with independent development ability specializing in the production of packaging inspection instruments
